NATURAL LIGHT AND SENSE OF OPENNESS
In Luigi Irauzqui’s Hollywood Hills house, the dining room embodies the home’s Spanish Colonial roots. Generously size antiqued slate floors, large archways and a warm color palette on highly textures walls gives one the feeling of being in the Spanish countryside.
The kitchen, in it’s present location, now flows into the dining room which is only a step away from the living room. This makes it easy to entertain guests and shepherd them from one room to the next. The archways and clear-glass-paneled doors gives this compact dining area a sense of scale and openness.
The French doors on one side of the dining room leads to a vine covered courtyard with a large central fountain, making this environment perfect for indoor/outdoor living.
The natural light that embraces the dining room also lights part of the living room, creating a different ambiance depending on the time of day. Being aware of how the light affects the colors on your wall to flowers on your table is important to keep in mind when designing.
